How do I access Sigma Phi Labs simulations?

Sigma Phi Labs simulations can be accessed on our website after purchasing access.

How is access purchased?

You can purchase access to Sigma Phi Labs simulations by contacting us on our Purchasing and Pricing page.

How long does access last?

Access lasts for one year. After one year, you will have the option to continue access.

Is Sigma Phi Labs available in other languages?

Sigma Phi Labs are currently available in English and Chinese Mandarin.

What subjects and topics are covered in Sigma Phi Labs simulations?

The 4 floors of Sigma Phi Labs are divided by the 4 disciplinary core ideas, as well. Floor one contains life sciences, floor two is the physical science area, floor three has engineering and design, and floor four has earth sciences.

How do you measure impact results?

Students progress through levels in our program. Students will reach milestones throughout the program to ensure their understanding of science concepts. Each simulation has a “simulate” section where learners will manipulate settings to obtain results. After each simulation, takeaways will be measured with a quiz on science concepts.

Why 3D and gamification?

Our 3D interface gives learners an opportunity to make connections with virtual characters that are relatable. Learning in a 3-dimensional science laboratory setting allows children to gain science experience in a real-world setting. This creates a familiarity with science settings, and will motivate students to pursue science and engineering career paths. Our program focuses on the intrinsic motivation of learners. This means we study the behavior caused by rewarding learners and implement these rewards into our program. Children become passionate about our simulations as they progress throughout our program. Learners earn recognition for completing milestones throughout Sigma Phi Labs, which will motivate them to engage in learning.

Can I use Sigma Phi Labs if my child has ADHD?

Yes! Our simulations can motivate children with ADHD by providing the boost of external motivation they need to complete educational activities.

My child is behind in science, is Sigma Phi Labs for him/her?

Absolutely. Sigma Phi Labs is meant to boost students’ understanding of science in a fun and immersive way.
Students that are behind in science will benefit from our simulations because they will teach them science concepts they may not yet understand. Sigma Phi Labs can be used for remediation purposes, or in addition to traditional education services.

What age group is Sigma Phi Labs for?

Our labs are designed for children ages 3-15. We have levels for each age group to provide appropriate learning. Our simulations range in difficulty and complexity based on the 4 levels in which our learners are placed Rookie Scientist, Apprentice Scientist, Clever Scientist, and Elite Scientist.

Is Sigma Phi Labs safe for children?

All of our simulations were developed for learners aged 3-15. All of our content is appropriate for children, and our interface is meant for learners ages 3-15.

How do I report a bug in Sigma Phi Labs?

If you experience a bug in one of our simulations, please report it to us so we can ensure our simulations are in working order. To report a bug, please click the “Report a Bug” button in the simulation. This will bring you to a contact form where you can explain the bug in detail to our developers.

Are there actual science teachers in Sigma Phi Labs?

Yes, and our AI-enabled MetaHuman instructor Mia will act as a guide for learners throughout Sigma Phi Labs.

How can I successfully implement your program?

We recommend setting a schedule for your child to use the program. These are the recommendations from our team:
● Ages 3-5: at least twenty-five minutes, twice a day, twice a week.
● Ages 6-9: at least thirty minutes, twice a day, three times per week.
● Ages 10-12: at least thirty minutes, twice a day, three times per week.
● Ages 13-15: at least forty minutes, twice a day, three times per week.

What are the levels included in the program?

● Level 1: Rookie Scientist (ages 3-5).

● Level 2: Apprentice Scientist (ages 6-9).

● Level 3: Clever Scientist (ages 10-12).

● Level 4: Elite Scientist (ages 13-15).
